24:15:02:08.  State certification exam requirements. The following requirements apply to applicants for certification:

          (1)  An applicant new to the profession must submit verification of passing scores on the state certification exams for each content/area authorization and for the pedagogy exam that most closely matches the applicant's preparation;

          (2)  An applicant who has previous teaching experience must submit verification of passing scores on the state certification exams for each content/area authorization and verification of teaching experience;

          (3)  An applicant who has met preparation standards from an approved education program but who has not taken the state certification exam at the time of application may be given a one-year certificate.
