24:15:06:02. Birth
through preschool education endorsement. A birth through preschool
education endorsement requires coursework completion, a passing score on the
designated state test, and completion of the following requirements:
(1) A child development
associate credential for infant, toddlers, and preschoolers; or
(2) Completion of 18
semester hours of coursework to include:
(a) Child growth and
development;
(b) Curriculum,
methodology, and materials related to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers;
(c) Family systems;
(d) Introduction to
children with disabilities; and
(e) One hundred
thirty-five clock hours of experience, practicum, or student teaching with
birth through preschool age children.
Verified teaching experience with birth
through preschool age children within the five-year period immediately
preceding application may be accepted in lieu of subdivision (e) at the
equivalency of one year’s teaching experience for one semester hour credit for
a maximum of three semester hours of the total credit hours required.
