5:02:09:04.05. Election day test of electronic ballot marking
system. Prior to the opening of the polls, the precinct superintendent must
test the electronic ballot marking system for proper operation using the
following procedure:
(1) Use only the test
ballots provided by the person in charge of the election which are labeled
"TEST BALLOTS";
(2) Mark at least two
"TEST BALLOTS" using the electronic ballot marking system by
selecting various candidates and ballot questions using the touchscreen, keypad,
and headphones;
(3) You must successfully
mark two "TEST BALLOTS" before allowing voters to use the electronic
ballot marking system;
(4) If the test is not
successfully completed, open the polls at 7:00 a.m. No voter may use the
electronic ballot marking system until the test is successfully completed.
