Teacher Salaries

Bill Title
HB 1214 create a required minimum salary for teachers who teach in school districts that receive state aid funding.
HB 1262 establish a classification system, an evaluation system, and minimum annual salaries for certified teachers and school service specialists, and to repeal certain provisions relating to teacher tenure.
HB 1268 establish a statewide minimum teacher salary that school districts must meet within five years and to allow school districts to receive funds through the teachers compensation assistance program to meet the minimum salary requirement.
SB 169 revise the index factor in the state aid to education formula and to establish a minimum salary schedule for teachers.
SB 181 create the South Dakota secondary teachers tuition reimbursement and loan forgiveness program and to make an appropriation therefor.
SB 187 revise the state aid to education formula for the purpose of increasing teachers salaries, to direct the Department of Education to review certain curriculum and to develop a framework for a twenty-first century high school, to create the Teacher Compensation Assistance Program Advisory Council, and to revise certain provisions related to the payment of additional funds to consolidating school districts.
