         FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to  require notice if certain immunizations contain more than trace amounts of mercury.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
     Section 1.  No early childhood immunization that contains more than trace amounts of mercury or preservatives containing mercury may be administered unless the parent or legal guardian of the child who is to receive the immunization is informed, prior to the administration, that the immunization contains more than trace amounts of mercury or preservatives containing mercury. For the purposes of this section, the term, early childhood immunization, means any immunization administered to a child under eight years of age. For the purposes of this section, the term, trace amounts, means any amount less than 0.5 microgram of mercury per 0.5 milliliter dose of vaccine.
