        FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to revise certain provisions relating to certain forms used to excuse a child from school.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
    Section 1. That chapter 13-27 be amended by adding thereto a NEW SECTION to read as follows:
    As an alternative to using the Department of Education's application form for excuse under § 13-27-3, a substantially similar form may be submitted to the school board containing all information required by law. An application for excuse under § 13-27-3 shall be valid and effective upon filing with the school board, subject to revocation thereafter as provided in this chapter.
