On the printed bill, delete everything after the enacting clause and insert:
" Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of § 2-1-2, if a qualified initiative is filed in the
Office of the Secretary of State by the first Tuesday in August 2011, the secretary of state shall
provide for a special election on November 8, 2011, and shall submit the qualified initiative to the
voters for their approval.
Section 2. Any initiative approved at the special election of November 8, 2011, shall become
effective on January 1, 2012.
Section 3. This Act will expire on September 1, 2011, if no initiative has been submitted by a
sufficient number of voters on or before the date set in section 1 of this Act."
