CONSIDERATION OF REPORTS OF CONFERENCE COMMITTEES
SB 99 ( HJ 28th LD) provide for a temporary suspension of certain licenses relating to
alcoholic beverages under emergency conditions.
Allow certain licensees or employees of a licensed establishment who have been
charged with certain felony offenses to be prohibited from entering the licensed
premises.

SB 161* revise certain provisions concerning public meetings held by teleconference or
videoconference.
SECOND READING OF SENATE BILLS AND JOINT RESOLUTIONS

SB 25* provide for the creation of a new state accountability system for public elementary
and secondary schools.
SB 162* create certified technology parks and to provide certain financing mechanisms and
bonding authority to enhance knowledge and tech-based economic development and
to repeal certain provisions concerning certified technology parks.
Provide for the designation of certified technology parks.
SB 170* reduce contractor's excise tax rate on new or expanded power production.
Provide for the enhancement of economic development in South Dakota.
Repeal the large project development fund and the appropriation therefor, to provide
tax rebates for certain energy projects, to establish and provide for the administration
of the business incentive grant fund, and to make an appropriation for the business
incentive grant fund.
SB 43* criminalize the failure to report the death or disappearance of a child within a
specified time by certain persons responsible for the care of the child.
SB 91* allow shareholders of subchapter S corporations to represent the corporation in
property tax appeals at the Office of Hearing Examiners.
Allow officers of corporations to represent corporations in property tax appeals at the
Office of Hearing Examiners.
SB 49 revise the property tax levies for the general fund of a school district.
SB 80* exempt motor vehicles owned by certain active duty military servicemembers from
the motor vehicle excise tax.
Exempt veterans from the twelve-month residency requirement for the purposes of
tuition and fees.
SB 146 provide for an affirmative defense of compulsion for the crime of prostitution.
SB 148 revise certain provisions relating to battery committed against infants and unborn
children.
SB 187* repeal certain provisions regarding the legislative review of state agencies.
SB 130* require the school board of each school district to adopt a policy prohibiting bullying.
SB 77* provide for the establishment of a scholarship program for postsecondary technical
institute students and to make an appropriation therefor.
SB 139* establish the Teach for America grant program within the Department of Education
and to make an appropriation therefor.
SB 193* revise the General Appropriations Act for fiscal year 2012 and to declare an
emergency.
SB 141* revise the legal definition of the term, domestic abuse.
SB 149* revise certain provisions relating to the conditional release of persons charged with
domestic abuse.
SB 183* establish the elements of the offense of juvenile sexting and to provide a penalty
therefor.

HC 1023 (HJ 28th LD) Commending and honoring Spc. Dennis Jensen who was killed on
active duty in Afghanistan.
SC 16 (SJ 564) Honoring Courtney Peterson of Sisseton, South Dakota, as the recipient of
the 2012 Miss Rodeo South Dakota crown.
SC 17 (SJ 565) Honoring Amy Shan of Madison as a recipient of the Prudential Spirit of
Community Award.
