AN ACT

        ENTITLED, An Act to require that newborns be screened for congenital heart defects.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
    Section 1. That chapter 34-24 be amended by adding thereto a NEW SECTION to read as follows:
    All hospitals which routinely provide obstetrical services and birth centers shall provide screening of newborns for congenital heart defects through the use of a pulse oximetry test.
An Act to require that newborns be screened for congenital heart defects.
